It’s that point of 12 months – our new matchbox collab has landed!
Two years within the making (not that we’re perfectionists or something!) and we’re so pleased with these.
We began chatting over two years in the past and are so excited to have Simone Brewster onboard for our second matchbox artist collaboration. Simone is a London-based artist and designer who creates giant scale, assertion, sculptural furnishings, objets d’artwork, and jewelry. As a part of the African Diaspora, her work marries the European influences of her schooling with an aesthetic understanding of her Caribbean heritage, bridging the hole between these two histories.
This matchbox design relies on art work initially created with inks and acrylic on paper and canvas, these expressly abstracted work conjure the sweetness and complexity of the feminine type and psyche.
These matches are comprised of 350gsm card with lengthy turquoise tipped black matchsticks and signature double strike.
